Bulimia: Craving Weight Loss May Be One Cause

What is Bulimia?

Bulimia is an eating disorder characterized by an extreme urge to eat and then to vomit or to take laxative excessively to eliminate ingested foods. This is because the person with this problem feels guilty or ashamed after eating.

Even thin, the person with bulimia sees herself in the mirror as fat. This disorder is more common in women.

It can be caused by several factors such as:

a) biological / organic problems;

b) psychological disorders;

c) cultural issues (influences of people) related to the desire to get thin or not get fat.

Because it is a serious health problem, the family should be alert and take the person with bulimia for medical treatment. Otherwise, this person can have serious consequences and even be put to death.
